Miryam is an award-winning filmmaker and actor based in Kirikiriroa/Hamilton.

Her films centre female-identifying people, challenging traditional cinematic tropes. Miryam has shown work at Show Me Shorts, Galway Film Fleadh, Melbourne Women in Film Festival, Vail Film Festival and Hollywood Short Film Festival.

Miryam trained at Toi Whakaari; NZ Drama School, graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Performing Arts. Her body of work includes directing online advertising campaigns for much-loved Kiwi brands and charities, assisting and second unit directing for Hannah Marks on Amazon’s Don’t Make Me Go and creating a documentary about eating disorders now used in schools and specialist clinics around the world. Miryam’s debut narrative film as a writer-director played in competition at Show Me Shorts Film Festival.

In 2017 she co-founded production company 2113 Creatives with her partner Jack to use their technical skills and experience as professional artists to help organisations craft visual stories of meaning. Miryam is represented by Frank Management.
